Winter health tips for the mind, body and soul
Winter is the perfect time to take care of yourself and love yourself. While many may take advantage and start indulging over these cooler months, there is absolutely no reason to wait until spring to make a change.
Here follows a few winter health tips that may help you keep a healthy mind, body and soul. Give yourself a head start, you deserve it.
Focus on consuming healthier fats such as those found in olive oil and salmon or trout.
Make omega-3 fatty acid your friend.
Engage in brain-stimulating activities such as crossword puzzles, reading, learning a new language or skill. These are all fantastic winter activities. Cuddle beneath a blanket with a good book.
Socialise more often. Meet new people, discuss new ideas and views. If you’re going through a tough time, talking to a loved one can do the world of good.
Try to incorporate at hand full of nuts daily or every other day into your diet.
Keep your diet colourful! Try to eat fresh fruit two times a day and vary the colour of the fruits, red, green, orange, purple. Keep your diet fun during those cooler months.
Create fun exercise routines at homes.
Engage in a winter sport activity if you’d like or start your own backyard sports team with a few friends and family members.

Increase the fibre intake in your diet.
Plan your meals in advance. For example, make a big pot of soup which you can enjoy for lunch at work several days after.
Get enough sleep. Poor sleeping patters can have an effect on your mood, concentration and stress levels.
